May 23rd, 2015 - Billy Vogel Continues on USMTS Weekend
a Billy Vogel was back at it in the driver’s seat for his first ever USMTS event at Crawford County Speedway (Denison, Iowa). On Thursday, Billy started in the 19th positon for the feature and managed to work his way up the field until running into some tire issues which dropped him back to record a 18th place finish.

Follow Thursday's night USMTS event at Crawford County Speedway, Billy Vogel continued on the USMTS tour to the next stop at Chateau Raceway (Lansing, Minnesota). Once the heat racing action began, Billy recorded a 5th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Starting 7th and only gaining one position, Billy Vogel's night ended early with a 6th spot in the B-Main.

Saturday’s night USMTS Series event brought 47 entries to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota). Billy recorded a 9th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. After failing to register a top 6th spot in the B-Main, Billy’s night ended early with a 15th place exit.

May 19th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Visits Benton County Speedway
a Billy Vogel returned to action on Tuesday evening with a trip to Benton County Speedway (Vinton, Iowa) for an IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour event. The program drew a field of thirty-three entries to the facility. Heat race action found Billy finishing 6th in his EZ Open Motorsports #4 LG21 Modified. His finish left him short of locking into the feature, and as a result he was relegated to the b-main. The b-main would find Vogel battling the handle on his entry as he was only able to manage a 10th place finish. As a result, his night came to an early end.

May 16th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Follows USMTS Action
a On Thursday night Mother Nature won again calling off the shows at Norman County Raceway in Ada Minnesota.

The next night proved to have clearer skies as Billy Vogel made the trip to I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls Minnesota for the USMTS event. After recording a 9th place spot in his heat, Billy Vogel earned a 20th place starting position in the B-Main. Battling for 15 laps, Billy was able to move up 11 positions and finish with a 9th place in the B-Main.

Saturday night the USMTS series moved on to Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie Minnesota. Billy didn’t seem to find any better luck as he finished with a 7th place spot in his heat earning a spot for the Real Racing Wheels B-Main. After battling for 15 laps, Billy recorded a 9th place finish in the B-Main at Ogilvie Raceway.

May 8th, 2015 - EZ Open Motorsports Competes at I-94
aBilly Vogel returned to action at I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) on Saturday night in his EZ Open Motorsports #4 Performance Auto/LG21 Modified.

A strong field of twenty-nine competitors entered the event, and via preliminary action he earned the 27th starting spot on the grid for the finale. During the course of the event he was able to advance eleven spots on his way to a 16th place finish.

May 3rd, 2015 - Billy Vogel Enters Pair of Weekend Events in Minnesota
1Billy Vogel and EZ Open Motorsports entered a pair of events over the weekend in their Performance Auto #4 Modified.

Action opened on Friday night at I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota), where things started on not the best of notes. Via preliminary action Billy earned the 20th starting spot for the feature event. He would fail to make up any ground in the main event and was credited with a 23rd place finish in the final rundown.

On Sunday evening the team returned to action at Buffalo River Race Park (Glyndon, Minnesota) with a Weekly Racing Series Event for the IMCA Modified division. Vogel enjoyed a much better outing than he did on Friday. He won his heat race from the pole position to lock into the 4th starting spot for the feature. He would go on to record an 11th place finish. Overall, it was a very successful night as Billy was able to gain invaluable seat time. March 28th, 2015 - Vogel Travels to Humboldt for King of America Modified Nationals
1The EZ Open Motorsports team traveled to Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) for the annual King of America Modified Nationals, sanctioned by the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS).

Eighty-two competitors registered for battle, all chasing the $10,000 top prize. The format featured double heat races on Thursday and Friday with drivers accumulating points toward Saturday night's finale.

Vogel struggled with the setup on his #4 EZ Open Garage Door/Durham Race Engines/LG21 entry, only managing a twelfth place finish in the first heat race on Thursday evening. Round #2 found him starting twelfth and finishing eleventh.

When action resumed on Friday night, Billy continued to battle the setup, slipping backwards to an eleventh place finish after starting second in Round #3. The final round of heat race action saw Vogel start fouth before settling to a tenth place finish. He ended the night 81st in the final point standings.

Billy's struggles in preliminary action pinned him deep in a last-chance race on Saturday evening. Vogel advanced seven positions to a thirteenth place finish in the last-chance event, which unfortunately left him short of lock into the 100-lap finale, ending his night early.

March 14th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Enters Spring Nationals at Beatrice Speedway
1Billy Vogel made the trip to Beatrice Speedway (Beatrice, Nebraska) over the weekend for the IMCA Spring Nationals.

A stout field of seventy IMCA Open Wheel Modifieds registered for battle on Friday night, all chasing the $2,000 top prize. Vogel drew the second starting spot for his heat race but slipped backwards, leaving him short of locking into the feature. As a result he would have to run a b-main. Unfortunately, Billy's night ended early when he collided with another competitor that slowed abruptly in front of him.

Saturday night's Spring Nationals finale also boosted a $2,000 winner's check to competitors. Billy settled to a seventh place finish in his heat race after starting fifth, sending him to a b-main. Vogel started ninth in the b-main, and was running fifth when terminal issues on his EZ Open Motorsports #4 entry forced him to retire from the balance of the program.

February 21st, 2015 - Vogel Opens 2015 Season with USMTS at Royal Purple
1Billy Vogel and the EZ Open Motorsports team kick off their 2015 campaign over the weekend with the United States Modified Touring Series at Royal Purple Raceway (Baytown, Texas).

A talent-laden field of fifty-three Open Wheel Modified warriors filled the pit area on Thursday night, all chasing the $2,000 top prize. A high pill-draw number pinned Vogel deep in a heat race as he went on to fall short of a transfer position, sending him to a b-main. Billy continued to battle the handle on his #4 EZ Open Garage Door/Durham Race Engines/LG21 entry in the b-main, ultimately failing to qualify for the 30-lap main event.

Fifty-five entries were on hand for Friday night's event as the winner's check increased to $3,000. Unfortunately, the team continued to struggle with the setup on the #4 Durham Race Engines/LG21 Open Wheel Modified, falling short of a transfer position in preliminary action to end their night early.

Saturday night's $4,000-to-win finale fell victim to Mother Nature.

January 6th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Launches New Website
1Billy Vogel is the newest addition to the MSR Mafia team and has launched a brand-new website at www.BillyVogel.com.

Vogel, who hails from West Fargo, North Dakota, recently completed his rookie season in the IMCA Modified ranks in his EZ Open Motorsports #4 entry. He finished 10th in Wissota Rookie points and finished 8th in track points at his home track Norman County Speedway (Ada, Minnesota).

The team is busily preparing for their sophomore season, which will see him contending for the track titles at Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) and Buffalo River Race Park (Glyndon, Minnesota). In addition they plan to enter various United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) events including the season openers, February 19th-21st at Royal Purple Raceway (Baytown, Texas).
