August 23rd, 2015 - Billy Vogel Lands Two Top Five Finishes
aBilly Vogel returned to Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) on Thursday powering his EZ Open Motorsports #4 LG21 Open Wheel Modified in the IMCA sanctioned event. Scoring a 3rd place outing in his heat, Billy bagged a runner-up finish in the feature to Michael Johnson with Rob Vanmil, Dave Shipley, and Dev Malmlov rounding out the top five.

On Sunday night Vogel headed to Buffalo River Race Park (Glyndon, Minnesota) for another round of IMCA action. Coming from 2nd, Billy cruised to a heat race victory. Capturing another top five finish, Billy Vogel finished 4th in the feature behind Rob Vanmil, Michael Greseth, and Michael Johnson with Justin Jones coming in 5th.

August 13th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Visits Norman County Raceway
aOn Thursday night Billy Vogel mae the trip to Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) to a stacked field of 43 IMCA Modifieds. Logging a 7th place outing in his heat, Vogel transferred into the B-Main. Transferring the top five, Billy's night came to an early end with a 12th place finish.

August 8th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Competes in the Hunt for the Casey's Cup
aBilly Vogel headed to Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) on Friday night for the USMTS sanctioned Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental. Drawing a crowd of 37 Open Wheel Modifieds, Vogel logged a 7th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Needing a 5th spot or better, Billy retired an 11th place spot in his B-Main bringing an early end to his night.

The following night brought Vogel to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) for night three of fifteen in the Hunt for the Casey’s Cup. Recording a 5th place finish in his heat, Billy transferred into the B-Main with a 6th place starting spot. Transferring the top four, Vogel’s night came to another early end with a 10th place finish in his B-Main.

August 1st, 2015 - Billy Vogel Faces Another Round of Bad Luck
a On Thursday night Billy Vogel made the trip back to Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) for weekly IMCA Open Wheel Modified Event. In a field of 17 cars, Vogel logged a 7th place finish in his heat transferring him into the feature. Starting in the back of the pack, Billy was involved in a wreck ending his night early

Sunday night brought Billy Vogel to Buffalo River Race Park (Glyndon, Minnesota) for a weekly show sanctioned by the IMCA Modified Division. Scoring a 2nd place spot in his heat, Billy transferred into the feature event with a 5th place starting spot. Battling in a field of 22 cars, the bad luck continued for Vogel when was came in contact with a car in the feature bringing another early end to his night.

July 25th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Visits North Central Speedway
aReturning to Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) on Thursday night Billy Vogel was one of 17 Open Wheel Modified signed in the weekly IMCA show. Finishing 8th in his heat, Vogel fell two spots in his feature retiring a 17th place finish.

On Saturday night Billy headed to North Central Speedway (Brainerd, Minnesota) looking to capture his 2nd victory of the season. Competing in a smaller field of 10 entries, Vogel transferred into the feature event after improving five spots in his heat. Starting in 5th, Billy Vogel recorded a 9th place finish.

July 25th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Visits North Central Speedway

July 18th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Bags First Victory of the Season
aOn Sunday night Billy Vogel headed to Buffalo River Raceway Park (Glyndon, Minnesota) competing in another round of IMCA Modified weekly action. In a field of 22 Open Wheel Modifieds, Vogel held his pole position starting spot in his heat to capture a heat race victory. Starting on the pole for the feature, Billy went on to win his first victory of the season on his birthday with Michael Joshnson, Jeff Odden, Michael Greseth, and Bryce Borgen rounding out the top five.

July 12th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Notches Top Five Finish at Norman County Raceway
aOn Thursday night Billy Vogel traveled to Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) to compete in an IMCA Modified event. With a smaller field of 14 total cars, Vogel logged a 2nd place finish in his heat transferring him into the feature event. Starting in 4th, Vogel held his spot for the entire feature finishing 4th behind Dev Malmvov, Bryce Borgen, and Alex Engelstand with Rob Vanmil completing the top five.

Sunday night brought Billy to Buffalo Raceway Park (Glyndon, Minnesota) piloting his EZ Open Motorsports #4 LG21 Modified in another IMCA Modified event. In a field of 17 cars, Vogel scored a 4th place finish in his heat setting him up for the 3rd place spot to start the feature event. Battling in a field of 17 cars, Vogel experienced issues in the A-Main ending his night early.

July 4th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Behind Wheel for Midwest Modified Nationals
aGetting the holiday weekend started a little early, Billy Vogel made the trip to Norman County Raceway (Alexandria, Minnesota) on Thursday for a regular night of IMCA Modifieds. In a smaller field of 14 entries, Billy logged a 6th place finish in his heat setting him up for the feature event. Starting in 12th, Vogel fell back two spots retiring 14th place finish.

aOn Saturday night for the 11th Annual Minnesota Modified Nationals, Vogel traveled to Viking Speedway (Alexandria, Minnesota) hoping for better results. With a staggering 60 Modifieds on hand, Billy improved four spots in his heat race although not enough for a transfer spot. Starting in 4th in his B-Main, Billy fell to the back of pack settling for an appearance in the Non-Qualifier Feature. In a total field of 26 Modifieds, Billy registered a 19th place finish.

Sunday’s night two of the 11th Annual Minnesota Modified Nationals was postponed to October 8th, 2015.

June 26th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Battles Bad Luck
aOn Wednesday Billy Vogel traveled to Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) for the two day IMCA Weekly Racing Event. With 14 Open Wheel Modifieds on hand, Vogel logged a 5th place finish in his heat transferring him into the feature event. Starting in 6th, Billy fell one spot to retire a 7th place finish in the A-Main.

The following night at Norman County Raceway Vogel experienced some issues in the feature ending his night early. In a larger field of 20 entries, Billy scored a 4th place spot in his heat transferring him into the feature. After starting in 9th, Billy Vogel got caught up in some debris in the A-Main bringing his night to an early end.

On Saturday night Vogel made the trip to River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) for another round IMCA racing action. Following a 2nd place outing in his heat, Billy found some more trouble in the A-Main event. Starting in 8th, Billy Vogel decided it was best to save his equipment after losing the door during feature action.

June 20th, 2015 - Vogel Scores Third Spot at Norman County Raceway
aContinuing on the 2015 race season, Billy Vogel returned to Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) on Thursday night for an event hosted by the IMCA Weekly Racing Series. With a smaller field of 18 Open Wheel Modifieds, Vogel captured a 2nd place finish in his heat transferring him into the feature event. With 2nd place starting spot, Vogel fell one position to record a 3rd place finish behind Paul Engelstad and Alex Engelstad with Dustin Strand and Michael Johnson completing the top five.

The following night brought Vogel to I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) for another night in his modified but in the WISSOTA Series.  Starting in 3rd in his heat, Billy never finished the race although transferred to the feature with a small car count. Bad luck continued for Vogel as he held his position and registered 18th place exit.

On Sunday night to wrap up the busy weekend, Billy Vogel made the trip to Buffalo River Race Park (Glyndon, Minnesota). In a field of 23 Modifieds, Billy grabbed a 5th place finish in his heat transferring him to the feature. Starting in 13th, Vogel experienced more issues and recorded 19th place finish.

June 14th, 2015 - Vogel Travels with United States Modified Touring Series
aOn Wednesday night Billy Vogel made the trip to KRA Speedway (Wilmar, Minnesota) for a United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) event. With 38 Modified’s in attendance, Vogel fell from his 2nd place starting spot in his heat to finish 6th, transferring him into the B-Main. Starting in 8th, Billy failed to make the Casey’s General Stores A-Main with a 9th place exit.

The following night brought Billy Vogel to Viking Speedway (Alexandria, Minnesota) for another USMTS event. With another packed house of 41 entries, Billy’s bad luck continued failing to make the 35-lap A-Main. Following a 8th place finish in his heat, Vogel dropped back into 11th in the 12-lap B-Main missing a transfer spot by five positions.

Friday night's program at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) was night one of two for another USMTS event. Via a large crowd of 40 Open Wheel Modifieds, Billy Vogel logged a 6th place spot in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. With fourteen cars battling for five transfer spots, Billy came up short with a 7th place finish ending his night early.

On Saturday for night two, with a smaller field of 37 cars, Billy Vogel had to rely on his B-Main performance with a 7th spot in his heat. In the 12-lap Real Racing Wheels B-Main, Vogel advanced one spot from his 10th place starting position failing to make the feature event.

To wrap up the busy weekend, Billy made the trip to Cresco Speedway (Cresco, Iowa) on Sunday for USMTS race. With only 22 Modifeds on hand, Vogel earned a spot into the feature event with an 8th place finish. Battling for the 40-lap Casey's General Stores A-Main, Billy Vogel retired a 22nd place finish.

June 7th, 2015 - Vogel Continues on IMCA Racing Series
a To kick off the four day racing weekend, Billy Vogel had plans on making the journey to Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) until Mother Nature had a say and Thursday night’s show was cancelled. The following night brought Vogel to Dacotah Speedway (Mandan, North Dakota) for some IMCA Series action. With a strong field of 35 Modified’s, Billy earned his way into the A-Main with a 4th place finish in his heat. Starting in 15th place in the feature event, Billy Vogel fell two positions to record a 17th place finish.

On Saturday night Billy made the trip to Jamestown Speedway (Jamestown, North Dakota) to continue on with the IMCA Modified tour. Coming in with a smaller field of 20 cars, Vogel found better results in the A-Main. Starting in 16th, Billy Vogel wheeled his way around five competitors to place 11th in the feature event.

The final night of the action packed racing weekend took Billy Vogel to Buffalo River Race Park (Glyndon, Minnesota) for another IMCA Series race. Following a 2nd place finish in his heat, Vogel ran into some bad luck in the feature. Starting in 4th place, Billy experienced some issues resulting him in pulling off and ending his night early.

May 31st, 2015 - Billy Vogel Travels With IMCA Racing Series
a On Saturday night Billy Vogel visited North Central Speedway (Brainerd, Minnesota) to give the IMCA Racing Series a shot. Following Thursday’s and Friday’s IMCA shows being called due to the weather, Billy was able to get in the driver’s seat for some action at North Central Speedway. After finishing in 6th in his heat race, Billy Vogel went on to gain five positions in the feature to record a 7th place finish.

Sunday night brought Billy Vogel to Buffalo River Race Park (Glyndon, Minnesota) for another night of IMCA Racing Series action. Following the 25-lap feature, Billy Vogel registered a 5th place finish behind Rob VanMil, Bryce Borgen, Dave Shipley and Deveryn Malmlov.

May 23rd, 2015 - Billy Vogel Continues on USMTS Weekend
a Billy Vogel was back at it in the driver’s seat for his first ever USMTS event at Crawford County Speedway (Denison, Iowa). On Thursday, Billy started in the 19th positon for the feature and managed to work his way up the field until running into some tire issues which dropped him back to record a 18th place finish.

Follow Thursday's night USMTS event at Crawford County Speedway, Billy Vogel continued on the USMTS tour to the next stop at Chateau Raceway (Lansing, Minnesota). Once the heat racing action began, Billy recorded a 5th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Starting 7th and only gaining one position, Billy Vogel's night ended early with a 6th spot in the B-Main.

Saturday’s night USMTS Series event brought 47 entries to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota). Billy recorded a 9th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. After failing to register a top 6th spot in the B-Main, Billy’s night ended early with a 15th place exit.

May 19th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Visits Benton County Speedway
a Billy Vogel returned to action on Tuesday evening with a trip to Benton County Speedway (Vinton, Iowa) for an IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour event. The program drew a field of thirty-three entries to the facility. Heat race action found Billy finishing 6th in his EZ Open Motorsports #4 LG21 Modified. His finish left him short of locking into the feature, and as a result he was relegated to the b-main. The b-main would find Vogel battling the handle on his entry as he was only able to manage a 10th place finish. As a result, his night came to an early end.

May 16th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Follows USMTS Action
a On Thursday night Mother Nature won again calling off the shows at Norman County Raceway in Ada Minnesota.

The next night proved to have clearer skies as Billy Vogel made the trip to I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls Minnesota for the USMTS event. After recording a 9th place spot in his heat, Billy Vogel earned a 20th place starting position in the B-Main. Battling for 15 laps, Billy was able to move up 11 positions and finish with a 9th place in the B-Main.

Saturday night the USMTS series moved on to Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie Minnesota. Billy didn’t seem to find any better luck as he finished with a 7th place spot in his heat earning a spot for the Real Racing Wheels B-Main. After battling for 15 laps, Billy recorded a 9th place finish in the B-Main at Ogilvie Raceway.

May 8th, 2015 - EZ Open Motorsports Competes at I-94
aBilly Vogel returned to action at I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) on Saturday night in his EZ Open Motorsports #4 Performance Auto/LG21 Modified.

A strong field of twenty-nine competitors entered the event, and via preliminary action he earned the 27th starting spot on the grid for the finale. During the course of the event he was able to advance eleven spots on his way to a 16th place finish.

May 3rd, 2015 - Billy Vogel Enters Pair of Weekend Events in Minnesota
1Billy Vogel and EZ Open Motorsports entered a pair of events over the weekend in their Performance Auto #4 Modified.

Action opened on Friday night at I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota), where things started on not the best of notes. Via preliminary action Billy earned the 20th starting spot for the feature event. He would fail to make up any ground in the main event and was credited with a 23rd place finish in the final rundown.

On Sunday evening the team returned to action at Buffalo River Race Park (Glyndon, Minnesota) with a Weekly Racing Series Event for the IMCA Modified division. Vogel enjoyed a much better outing than he did on Friday. He won his heat race from the pole position to lock into the 4th starting spot for the feature. He would go on to record an 11th place finish. Overall, it was a very successful night as Billy was able to gain invaluable seat time. March 28th, 2015 - Vogel Travels to Humboldt for King of America Modified Nationals
1The EZ Open Motorsports team traveled to Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas) for the annual King of America Modified Nationals, sanctioned by the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS).

Eighty-two competitors registered for battle, all chasing the $10,000 top prize. The format featured double heat races on Thursday and Friday with drivers accumulating points toward Saturday night's finale.

Vogel struggled with the setup on his #4 EZ Open Garage Door/Durham Race Engines/LG21 entry, only managing a twelfth place finish in the first heat race on Thursday evening. Round #2 found him starting twelfth and finishing eleventh.

When action resumed on Friday night, Billy continued to battle the setup, slipping backwards to an eleventh place finish after starting second in Round #3. The final round of heat race action saw Vogel start fouth before settling to a tenth place finish. He ended the night 81st in the final point standings.

Billy's struggles in preliminary action pinned him deep in a last-chance race on Saturday evening. Vogel advanced seven positions to a thirteenth place finish in the last-chance event, which unfortunately left him short of lock into the 100-lap finale, ending his night early.

March 14th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Enters Spring Nationals at Beatrice Speedway
1Billy Vogel made the trip to Beatrice Speedway (Beatrice, Nebraska) over the weekend for the IMCA Spring Nationals.

A stout field of seventy IMCA Open Wheel Modifieds registered for battle on Friday night, all chasing the $2,000 top prize. Vogel drew the second starting spot for his heat race but slipped backwards, leaving him short of locking into the feature. As a result he would have to run a b-main. Unfortunately, Billy's night ended early when he collided with another competitor that slowed abruptly in front of him.

Saturday night's Spring Nationals finale also boosted a $2,000 winner's check to competitors. Billy settled to a seventh place finish in his heat race after starting fifth, sending him to a b-main. Vogel started ninth in the b-main, and was running fifth when terminal issues on his EZ Open Motorsports #4 entry forced him to retire from the balance of the program.

February 21st, 2015 - Vogel Opens 2015 Season with USMTS at Royal Purple
1Billy Vogel and the EZ Open Motorsports team kick off their 2015 campaign over the weekend with the United States Modified Touring Series at Royal Purple Raceway (Baytown, Texas).

A talent-laden field of fifty-three Open Wheel Modified warriors filled the pit area on Thursday night, all chasing the $2,000 top prize. A high pill-draw number pinned Vogel deep in a heat race as he went on to fall short of a transfer position, sending him to a b-main. Billy continued to battle the handle on his #4 EZ Open Garage Door/Durham Race Engines/LG21 entry in the b-main, ultimately failing to qualify for the 30-lap main event.

Fifty-five entries were on hand for Friday night's event as the winner's check increased to $3,000. Unfortunately, the team continued to struggle with the setup on the #4 Durham Race Engines/LG21 Open Wheel Modified, falling short of a transfer position in preliminary action to end their night early.

Saturday night's $4,000-to-win finale fell victim to Mother Nature.

January 6th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Launches New Website
1Billy Vogel is the newest addition to the MSR Mafia team and has launched a brand-new website at www.BillyVogel.com.

Vogel, who hails from West Fargo, North Dakota, recently completed his rookie season in the IMCA Modified ranks in his EZ Open Motorsports #4 entry. He finished 10th in Wissota Rookie points and finished 8th in track points at his home track Norman County Speedway (Ada, Minnesota).

The team is busily preparing for their sophomore season, which will see him contending for the track titles at Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota) and Buffalo River Race Park (Glyndon, Minnesota). In addition they plan to enter various United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) events including the season openers, February 19th-21st at Royal Purple Raceway (Baytown, Texas).
