March 14th, 2015 - Billy Vogel Enters Spring Nationals at Beatrice Speedway
Billy Vogel made the trip to Beatrice Speedway (Beatrice, Nebraska) over the weekend for the IMCA Spring Nationals.

A stout field of seventy IMCA Open Wheel Modifieds registered for battle on Friday night, all chasing the $2,000 top prize. Vogel drew the second starting spot for his heat race but slipped backwards, leaving him short of locking into the feature. As a result he would have to run a b-main. Unfortunately, Billy's night ended early when he collided with another competitor that slowed abruptly in front of him.

Saturday night's Spring Nationals finale also boosted a $2,000 winner's check to competitors. Billy settled to a seventh place finish in his heat race after starting fifth, sending him to a b-main. Vogel started ninth in the b-main, and was running fifth when terminal issues on his EZ Open Motorsports #4 entry forced him to retire from the balance of the program.

February 21st, 2015 - Vogel Opens 2015 Season with USMTS at Royal Purple
Billy Vogel and the EZ Open Motorsports team kick off their 2015 campaign over the weekend with the United States Modified Touring Series at Royal Purple Raceway (Baytown, Texas).

A talent-laden field of fifty-three Open Wheel Modified warriors filled the pit area on Thursday night, all chasing the $2,000 top prize. A high pill-draw number pinned Vogel deep in a heat race as he went on to fall short of a transfer position, sending him to a b-main. Billy continued to battle the handle on his #4 EZ Open Garage Door/Durham Race Engines/LG21 entry in the b-main, ultimately failing to qualify for the 30-lap main event.

Fifty-five entries were on hand for Friday night's event as the winner's check increased to $3,000. Unfortunately, the team continued to struggle with the setup on the #4 Durham Race Engines/LG21 Open Wheel Modified, falling short of a transfer position in preliminary action to end their night early.

Saturday night's $4,000-to-win finale fell victim to Mother Nature.
